Today my podcast guest is Patrick Roegiers - a dutch architect, a recent graduate of Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam with the master project “A sense of home” focusing on the topic of homelessness. During the research Patrick himself lived on the streets following the lifestyle of homeless for couple of days. The final result was a temporary shelter built in a gap between two narrow historical Amsterdam houses in de Jordaan. Few homeless were able to find a home there.

Moim gościem w odcinku jest Patrick Roegiers - holenderski architekt, absolwent Akademii Architektury w Amsterdamie, autor dyplomu magisterskiego pt. “A sense of home” poruszający temat problemu bezdomności. Finalnym projektem było tymczasowe jednoosobowe schronienie zawieszone w szparze pomiędzy dwiema amsterdamskimi kamieniczkami. Podczas researchu do projektu Patrick sam zamieszkał na ulicy przez kilka dni poznając tryb życia osoby bezdomnej. W finalnym schronieniu tymczasowy dach nad głową znalazło kilka osób w potrzebie. Co znaczy “czuć się jak w domu”? Co sprawia, że czujemy się bezpiecznie? Jak duża jest skala problemu bezdomności na świecie, w Holandii, w Polsce? Jakie są przyczyny bezdomności? Jak żyją osoby bezdomne, gdzie przebywają, jak spędzają dzień? Jak wyglądał proces tworzenia tego projektu? Jak doświadczenie życia na ulicy wpłynęło na projekt? Dlaczego karton stał się podstawowym budulcem? Jak wyglądał proces montowania instalacji? Jakie problemy Patrick napotkał po drodze? Dlaczego rozgłos w mediach był istotny?
