In "Changes and Judgements" series we show stories of women from various backgrounds and cultures, who at some point in their lives decided to make some change, and are being met with judgements of all sorts - whether internal self-judgement or external criticism.
Today we talk with Monika, who started working when she was 15 years old, finished high school and raised her first child until she's decided to slow down and eventually stop working entirely.
We discuss aspects such as:
- gaining independence and a sense of power
- providing for family
- transition time
- grieving process
- coming to peace with not working
- switching form "robot mode" to being in the present mode
- finding interests and hobbies at a later-than-typical age
- giving time and attention to yourself
- giving yourself permission to enjoy life
- opening up to receiving
- preparing yourself for the time "when kids leave the house"
- not feeling guilty for spoiling yourself
- choosing what we do with the 24 hours that we have
