The European Green Deal described by Ursula Von der Leyen as Europe’s “new growth strategy” aims to achieve a 55% net reduction target by 2030 and make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. With the new „Fit for 55 Package” coming along we invited Michael Bloss, a Member of the European Parliament, the coordinator of the Climate Core Group, and shadow rapporteur for the Industrial Strategy and the European Climate Law for the Greens/EFA Group to discuss whether the reforms planned by the EU are ambitious enough to fight the climate crisis. The interview was conducted by Joanna Jakubowska.

Most Europeans expect the EU institutions to focus on issues such as public health, fighting poverty, and supporting the economy in the face of the crisis. In this interview, Philipp Schulmeister, Head of Public Opinion Monitoring Unit in the European Parliament looked closely at the results of the survey and explained its prominent role in shaping the EU's policy. The interview was conducted by Karolina Zbytniewska, the editor-in-chief of EURACTIV Poland.
