Google is blind. It doesn't see beautiful layouts, engaging carousels, attractive illustrations, and photos. The same is true for many other users who visit our site and may not necessarily rely on the culturally dominant sense of sight. The use of storytelling principles in coding comes to the rescue, changing the optics from visual coding to linear coding arranged logically. By asking questions about whether the structure of our website tells a logical story, whether its content carries meaning and function, and whether the reader of this story can easily navigate through it by finding strategic elements, we are able not only to create well-functioning websites, which the blind Google and its crawlers will visit and rate higher in the SEO ranking. Above all, we will reach all Internet users who sit down to the coded reading with the satisfaction that someone has prepared a user-friendly website written like an engaging story.

If you listen to the hype, everything is moving to the "edge!" First we started deploying our apps and assets there and now our functions are moving there and even our data is migrating there. If you're wondering how the edge applies to you and your app, this session will break it down. We'll cover what we mean by the edge, whether the edge lives up to its lofty promises and ways you can get started using edge functions and edge data to improve your application.

Digital Accessibility from the Ground Up: Integrating Design Principles into Organizational Processes.
In the current digital environment, it is essential for organizations to prioritize accessibility to promote inclusivity and ensure equal access to information and services for all users. To achieve this, organizations need to embed inclusive design principles into their core processes from the very beginning. Inclusive design principles will take center stage, focusing on how organizations can integrate them into various stages of the digital development lifecycle. From requirements gathering and design to development and testing, the conference will showcase best practices, tools, and methodologies that support the integration of accessibility into each phase. Participants will learn practical techniques to ensure accessibility is considered at every step, promoting inclusive digital experiences from the ground up. We will explore the synergies between WCAG 3.0 and the iterative design process, unearthing new possibilities for co-creation, collaboration, and innovation.

Never urgent, rarely important: how to find and elevate the value of visual (UI) design for different types of project.
Consult The Eisenhower Matrix, and most visual (UI) design tasks will fall under the delete (distraction and unnecessary) quadrant. Ask your product manager if you can work on improving the curvatures of the icon set you are using, and observe closely. Visual (UI) design is the thing that attracts people's attention; although it is genuinely the least important aspect of product design, delivering work related to visual improvements is usually pushed down. How to navigate the paradox of this situation? How to show the hidden value of the visual (UI) design, and when to let go? This talk is about being more strategic about the craft of pushing pixels and micro-interactions.

When we talk about high-loaded interfaces, internal portals and so on, we always imagine graphs, tables, timelines, kanbans and similar interface elements. When working on such projects, you realise that most of the elements don't fit the tasks users need to complete, or they fit, but they could be made even better. There are 1000's of guides on the Internet on how to make the visualization better, but there are almost no guides on how to choose the approach and why it's important. That is what determines how users interact with the product and the profit of the company. The goal: To help designers find the right approach to display information, to listen and hear users, and to understand their challenges and pains. To show examples of how the same information looks in one way or another, and what features can help improve it.

Is UX still a creative field? What down to earth designers should know about speculative design.
Creativity is considered a crucial characteristic of successful UX designers. However, more often than not, we rely on established patterns and frameworks to find practical, tried-and-true solutions instead of exploring new frontiers. While this approach may work for the present, we miss the opportunity to shape the future. Can we do better? In this talk, I will explore the role of speculative design and how it can influence both short-term operations and long-term strategy, as well as how this practice can be applied in the UX process.

Implementing an AI-based solution is primarily a technological challenge. Meanwhile, concepts for new products or functionalities are often born in the heads of designers. Is it possible to provide designers with a workshop that allows them to take a realistic look at the possibilities of Machine Learning? Or should we instead provide developers and architects with a design workshop, so that they can be the ones to look for applications of AI and recognize the risks of its use? Let’s discuss Human-Centered AI and the role of collaboration between designers and developers in building the next wave of better Artificial Intelligence products.

WaysConf 2024 coming soon! Don't miss anything and follow us! I’m currently working on a tool that aims to automate the repetitive tasks of user research. I would like to talk about the process that I used to build such a tool, what it’s capable of, why designers should embrace AI, and my prediction for the impact of AI on UX in general. I’m working as a Product Designer for AI tools since 2019 and have a deep understanding of what is currently possible and where the limitations are. I would like to share my knowledge about the intersection of AI, design and business and how we as designers should handle the big shifts that are now reaching our industry.
