[ENG] Designing with Data: The Art and Science of Data Visualization Selection | Denis Rybin | WaysConf 2023
2024-02-07 14:03:00

WaysConf 2024 coming soon! Don't miss anything and follow us! When we talk about high-loaded interfaces, internal portals and so on, we always imagine graphs, tables, timelines, kanbans and similar interface elements. When working on such projects, you realise that most of the elements don't fit the tasks users need to complete, or they fit, but they could be made even better. There are 1000's of guides on the Internet on how to make the visualization better, but there are almost no guides on how to choose the approach and why it's important. That is what determines how users interact with the product and the profit of the company. The goal: To help designers find the right approach to display information, to listen and hear users, and to understand their challenges and pains. To show examples of how the same information looks in one way or another, and what features can help improve it.

[ENG] Is UX still a creative field? | Michał Dorosz
2024-02-07 10:59:00

WaysConf 2024 coming soon! Don't miss anything and follow us! Is UX still a creative field? What down to earth designers should know about speculative design. Creativity is considered a crucial characteristic of successful UX designers. However, more often than not, we rely on established patterns and frameworks to find practical, tried-and-true solutions instead of exploring new frontiers. While this approach may work for the present, we miss the opportunity to shape the future. Can we do better? In this talk, I will explore the role of speculative design and how it can influence both short-term operations and long-term strategy, as well as how this practice can be applied in the UX process.

[ENG] Human-Centered AI: The Role of Design in Building Better AI Products | Mateusz Cygan | WaysConf 2023

WaysConf 2024 coming soon! Don't miss anything and follow us! Implementing an AI-based solution is primarily a technological challenge. Meanwhile, concepts for new products or functionalities are often born in the heads of designers. Is it possible to provide designers with a workshop that allows them to take a realistic look at the possibilities of Machine Learning? Or should we instead provide developers and architects with a design workshop, so that they can be the ones to look for applications of AI and recognize the risks of its use? Let’s discuss Human-Centered AI and the role of collaboration between designers and developers in building the next wave of better Artificial Intelligence products.

[ENG] How AI-Powered UX Research Streamlines the Design Process | Bruno Recht | WaysConf 2023

WaysConf 2024 coming soon! Don't miss anything and follow us! I’m currently working on a tool that aims to automate the repetitive tasks of user research. I would like to talk about the process that I used to build such a tool, what it’s capable of, why designers should embrace AI, and my prediction for the impact of AI on UX in general. I’m working as a Product Designer for AI tools since 2019 and have a deep understanding of what is currently possible and where the limitations are. I would like to share my knowledge about the intersection of AI, design and business and how we as designers should handle the big shifts that are now reaching our industry.

[ENG] Managing a DesignOps roadmap | Peter Boersma | WaysConf 2023
2024-02-05 15:02:00

WaysConf 2024 coming soon! Don't miss anything and follow us! As a DesignOps practitioner, you are responsible for getting DesignOps initiatives executed in an orderly fashion. In Peter Boersma’s view, this means that you should maintain a roadmap for DesignOps, and work with others to get the initiatives on it done. The maintenance part already consists of at least five different activities, and for the execution part you will need people with the DesignOps Mindset to help you. Peter will show how he has done this in the past, including examples of DesignOps initiatives from Miro and ServiceNow.

[ENG] Everyone can become a webflow expert (the truth about mindset, skillset, and how to become webflow master) | Marcin Rzymek | WaysConf 2023
2024-02-05 10:49:00

WaysConf 2024 coming soon! Don't miss anything and follow us! Everyone can become a webflow expert (the truth about mindset, skillset, and how to become webflow master) Webflow is a hot topic nowadays, although its marketing is pretty misleading (same as other no-code tools). It's not about web design, or rather, not design-only. It's about development. As long as we can use Webflow for design, true, switching the mindset to development will make us create timeless, effortless and efficient websites. Not only sites that look good and attract the eye. Let’s talk about best practices and most common mistakes in Low-code development. Let’s decompose no/low-code development mindset, including consulting approach and value–focus (not deliverables). What you’ll learn is, being able to treat websites as products and tools helping companies reach business goals. Understand how designers and Webflow dev’s see layout, what you have to remember about. How to approach accessibility. Interactions (not only animations). How important it is to spend more time thinking than acting - for example, how to build comprehensive CMS structures, by starting from information architecture, and more.

Neurodiversity, what UX should know to design (even better) accessibility solutions Temat, jaki chciałabym poruszyć to krótkie 20 min dotyczące autyzmu wśród kobiet i w związku z tym anxiety disorder i jaki to ma wpływ na projektowanie obecnie. Czyli co powinien wiedzieć UX, by projektować (jeszcze lepiej) inkluzywny design.

The voice of the customer - about the shortcomings of declarative research in product discovery Voice of the Customer - easy to get and analyze, hard to conclude from. Organizations have fallen in love with automatic techniques for tracking feedback from their customers. They eagerly reach for reviews, opinions, helpline reports and ratings on scales. It gives them a conviction that their organization is customer-centric. However, it is not the most accurate source of users' needs in product discovery. In the presentation, I will focus on what are the limitations of declarative methods and what are their alternatives.
