Presenting a case study on how to start, build, and iteratively improve your product without writing a single line of code. The purpose is to demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of no-code tools, from idea inception to MVP, and beyond. This topic is crucial for empowering non-technical entrepreneurs and is particularly exciting for designers and product builders, as it allows them to bring their visions to life without relying on developers. The presentation will include practical, real-life examples from two designer-no coder-entrepreneurs.

[PL] Jak zaprojektować i zaimplementować Generative AI w swoim produkcie | Aleksandra Wancisiewicz | WaysConf 2024

Od Pomysłu do Realizacji: Jak zaprojektować i zaimplementować Generative AI w swoim produkcie Designing the very first Generative AI for a PR SaaS can be a challenge. Recently, we developed an AI Assistant that helps our users write good quality press releases. I will share our process of designing Generative AI - starting from defining business requirements and hypotheses, then going through the design process and collaboration with other stakeholders, ending on what went well and what didn’t. I will also share some tips and tricks for designers - how to navigate through the unknowns around AI and how to design when good practices are not yet set.

[ENG] How a good story shaped the future of Booking.com | Miranda Slayter | WaysConf 2024
2025-02-07 10:54:00

For the last couple of years I've led the 180° shift in how design has been influencing product strategy all across my company from the top level board investment decisions to department level roadmaps. I'd be keen to talk about this process and how others could incorporate it. There is a really strong aspect of how I went above and beyond just objectives and design visuals and crafted a strong narrative using good storytelling to get the influence we were after. This topic is important because, as a community, I think we know it's not always easy to get design a seat at the table. I want this talk to inspire and encourage designers to utilise their skills, but maybe through a different lens, to achieve influence which is notoriously difficult.

[ENG] AI-Powered UX Content Design: Good Product Content for Everyone! | Ben Davies-Romano | WaysConf 2024
2025-02-06 15:12:00

This talk isn't about adding to any speculation about AI in our space. We’re here to candidly share what we’ve practically learned from integrating AI into our work as content designers. All of us working in design know about the impact of words and language in our products, but despite content design being a growing discipline, many of us still have to work with no or limited content design resources. That's why I want to share how my team and I use AI as a tool to help ""do the words"" in the design process and improve the overall UX. I'll share concrete tried-and-tested techniques, prompt frameworks for writing superb microcopy without a writer, and inspiration for how you can use AI to supercharge your own content design skills and help you become a well-rounded full-stack UX designer.

[ENG] Is one year of design token struggles really worth it? | Daniel Wodziczka | WaysConf 2024
2025-02-05 10:50:00

The story of long and painful 12 months of introducing design token into one of my project. - Why it took so much time? - Why we after all didn't ship it? - What blockers did we face along the road? - Is it REALLY worth it? I will more or less orbit around below bullet points to construct the final storytelling: 1. Phases description - selected phases of the journey, explanation of the general idea and execution plan 2. Good intentions, bad outcome - what went bad, why we didn't spot that we are doing circles for 12 months 3. Lessons learned - what have i learned during that period of time 4. It is still worth it - conclusion on my 12 months crusade that help me build next design tokens within a 1 month and ship it.

[ENG] The Sword of UX Has Two Edges. Final User Experience And Those Along The Way | Anna Nojek | WaysConf 2024
2025-02-04 10:27:21

UX is often perceived as something related to the final product, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. Before the product can serve its purpose to users, it must be created by people. And the experience of each of those people has a great influence on the final outcome. Regularly, we overlook the journey of building — where challenges happen on a daily basis and the pains of those crafting the product are pushed aside. In today's era of cross-functional teams spanning multiple specializations, speaking a unified language is imperative yet demanding. Therefore, it's crucial to keep consistency, transparency, and usability within organizations. By focusing on this aspect, we can strive for more seamless collaboration and drive collective success. But how do we achieve this? In this talk I will dive deeper into the layers of user experience beyond the finished product. Drawing from my experiences in the corporate world, game production, and more, I'll cast some light on navigating through spread-out teams and a landscape filled with diverse tools and ideas. I will tell you about my ways to bring it all together into a great whole — and what can go wrong along the way. With a dedication to improvement, I'm on a mission to bridge gaps and foster collaboration across specialities and perspectives, to create a unified environment supporting the process of creating well-crafted products. In the era of many new designers joining our UX world, I want to show that it has much more to offer, and how we can contribute to its development. I want to show the audience a broader view of UX and why it matters, offering practical tips and insights on how to support the invaluable contributors behind the scenes — the heroes without whom our products would never see the light of day. The other edge of the UX sword.
